yesterday, i woke up around 10am and at the same time, my parents woke up and got themselves ready to go out... just as i was about to get dressed, dad told me to go down and i was like... "er, okay..." i went down and dad told me something funny...

there is a bird in the house... i just stared at my dad not knowing what to say...
he looked and me and gave me the "i'm not joking" face...
he told me to bring a broom and look under the piano..
O_o!

i did what he told me and i did seriously saw a small bird there... kinda trapped under the piano... i have no idea how to make it come out without hurting it and dad saw me looking doubtful and took the broom from my hands... he gently swipe under the piano and whooosh...

the bird flew...

upwards... into the piano.. =.="
just what i needed on a saturday morning.. bird catching.. =.="

i told dad to leave it to me and go out so he can reach his office in time for breakfast and his appointment at 11am... the moment my parents left, i left the piano open, went up and woke my brother up.. *what are siblings for?!*

when we got down, the bird left the piano and was flying in a very blur way towards the wall.. it hit itself and fell down... we tried guiding it to the door and again, it hit itself on a sofa.. *yes, the bird was really blur and directionless*

i went to open the door and bro guided the bird by shooing it away with something and it flew right out... now, i'm still worried bout the bird cause i think the wing is wounded... no idea... yea, saturday morning was just like that..

was too shocked to take photo of the bird... :p

Merry Christmas 2008!!

Merry Christmas to all~!!!

Excerpt from our christmas prezzie:

Dear Brother / Sister in Christ,
Never forget how we all get together once a year to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are where we are because of what He has done on he cross for each of us.
"For God so LOVED the WORLD, that He gave..." (John 3:16)
Let us hold each others hand as we all celebrate this day together as a family.
Like a jigsaw puzzle, we all belong in ONE family that fits perfectly into each other.

Agape; Kenneth, Esther, Matt, Jlai

OR
Dear Friend,
For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)
3 nails + 1 cross = 4 given
Agape; Kenneth, Esther, Matt, Jlai
*pictures to be uploaded when i'm not as sleepy as i am now... :p*
**ps: dance is finally over!!! wohoo!!! everything seemed to pass so quickly when it's the end of the year! =.="

My testimony for ASC Youth Camp 2008

My Testimony for ASC Youth Camp 2008
17th December 2008 - 20th December 2008
Vertical and Horizontal Connection
Isaiah 26:8

After reading Ching Li's testimony, it motivated me to write my part of story to tell how good our God is to all of us. Back in April when Matt, Jordan and I went to scout the land, we brought back nothing but bad news; leeches, small tent places; not safe and bla bla bla.... now that it is after the camp, it reminded me of the spies that was sent into the Promised Land to scout. As much as I hated leech and that place, I had to admit that I had fun that short 3 days and 2 nights. It was even better than the camps I’ve gone before... and believe it not, I didn't care whether the leeches bit me or not!

The planning of the camp all the way the executing of the plans for the camp, I believed by faith that God was with us. It was only by God's grace that we managed to pull it through till the end... I wasn't even sure whether I could attend the camp or not because i was told that in Kinokuniya, December is a month where staffs are not allowed to take leave unless it is for Christmas. Looking at our camp, it is held before Christmas and thus, I couldn't use Christmas as my reason for applying leave. Thankfully to God, the leave was approved at the end... Isn't God wonderful? I took leaves on Thursday (18th) and Friday (19th) and made my way to the campsite with Matthew and Jonathan in the morning.

Though I wasn't there the first night, shu ying managed to sms me and told me they made carrot fried rice and that I’ve missed out the fun... (>.<) I was touched when a few of them came to me and told me what has happened for the past day and it was really fun to see a few different faces there... I managed to speak to a few new people and you could just feel the sweet bonding of friendships all around that place. The uncle who was in charge there, Uncle Jack was really friendly and the moment I reach that place, my guardian angel gave me a can of 100plus (thankfully, they did not give me coke..i don't like it honestly) It was really good to be surrounded by people who cares for you and loves you... For that short 3 days, I managed to show love to the girls especially. Although I do need to apologize for not making extra efforts to certain people. Fast forward everything else, the highlight of the camp is definitely the ministry time where 2 people gave their lives to the Lord. All glory be unto our Lord who is the author and perfector of our faith. During the last session, Malvin asked for the 1st batch of people who have not known the Lord and is willing to know him now. To be honest, I was sad to see that no one lifted their hands. I was praying so hard in my heart for people to respond. Just then, a simple nudge deep down brings me back to reality. "Dear child, it is not of your own time that these people should respond." "But, LORD...."

Just as Malvin speaks of the second group of people, people who wants to bring about changes in their school and lives, people started responding. Most of the people went forward to be prayed for and the few of us leaders went out to pray for them one by one. I started off with Mei Leng who broke down because of some personal reasons. Then, I went off to Shu Ying, and then Gaya, and lastly Esther. Most of them, I was speechless cause I couldn't do anything but to cry with them. They were all so broken and hungering for more of God... All of them have fear deep down in their hearts. A longing for God that is growing by the minute.

All I could do is just sit down and weep with them. Just being there for them. Just to show them that someone do care for them. The funny thing is, before I go out to pray for them, evil whispered into my ear, "see! These are the people that is under your care. See how broken they are! All these are caused by your ignorance. All these are your fault! You did not do enough and they are now suffering." I was so broken hearted when I heard those whispers. Looking around, the people who responded seriously are all from my care. These lives were passed on to me to be cared for. wah, that moment, I felt so chained down with sadness, with guilt, and with pain. I couldn't do anything but to pray to the lord for strength, for peace, for love to fill my life again. I will never let Satan win me over!

Seriously, at that moment, lots of things came to my mind, things like, stepping down, just focusing on my 'private' life. shy away from everyone else, have nothing to do with church and bla bla bla..."they are better off without you" came the thought. I felt as though life could be more 'free' without this whole church thing.

I felt a slap after that (not literally)... it was God who soften my heart and shown me that these people needs me all the more to be there... "but what about yourself?!” the evil whisper came again. "I have the Lord with me. whom should I fear?!" "Is that ever enough for you?" "Yes! He is perfect and all that I need. With you (Satan), I can have what I want now. But with God, He gives me without holding back." Right at that moment, Mei Leng kind of unbalanced herself and stumbled a bit. It brought me back to where I was and yea... that happened and what I have to say is, I’ve learnt that with God, everything isn't about me and me alone. It's about his will, his plan and his people...

Leader or no leader, I am going to care for them and protect them like a lion protecting the younger ones. I will risk my life to bring them back into God's kingdom. To those who want to play around with the lives of these young ones, ask me before you dare to come near them. I am going to be a fierce protector over them. I will discipline when it is needed and love when it is needed. I will NOT let Satan win them over. They are too precious in my God's sight!

I ask of you now to pray alongside with me that these people who gave their lives to God will give it whole heartedly... Let us be accountable to one another.. ensuring that each other will continue to grow... and even if 1 person stumbles, let us all help that person together by being accountable...

share, love and grow...

time passes by really quickly especially at the end of the year...
it's already 6th december 08... hmmm

my week has been the same...
morning, wake up, go to work...
end work and rush to UM to be with daddy and mommy...
BUT.... *jeng jeng jeng!!!*
today's a bit different.... haha.. whY??

today, st gab church hosted an outreach pre-christmas party at the community hall nearby their church... this is an outreach to the kids that lives in the flats nearby....

we did many things such as, games, face painting, hand stamping, christmas tree making and etc... it was really fun to be around small kids who is always smiling and laughing when they get to play... i believed we all had fun being around one another and learning...

was really glad to see the youths in st gab to go all out in leading this... it was really good considering that this isn't done always... :) great job u guys!!! was also very proud of the guys and gals from asc... they did their best (though they were all playing a fool as usual) and i'm sure they definitely had fun too... :) sigh.. but then again, i'm starting to think that certain things were done in order to impress the girls there.. but who am i to think that?? haha...

this is definitely something very different to what i've been doing for the past 1 week... something more relaxing and fun... :) am looking forward to more collaborations with them in the future *if there is* and hope that we ourselves can also be encouraged to do more of these outreachs... :)

now, i'm going back to visiting my dad in UM... :) i'll update u guys on my dad as soon as i know more... :)

daddy updates 04/12/08

another daddy update... :)

daddy wanted to discharge himself from the hospital when he is still yet to fully recover....
sigh...
seriously what do we do to make an old man listen?
okay, i understand it really hurts whenever those yet to be fully trained trainee do something to him, BUT, he really do need to stay there longer to fix all the problems that he is facing...
mom is tired, i understand... but still...

anyway, on wednesday nite, while i was visiting my dad,
i was too tired so i swapped place with my dad... he sat on the chair and i rested on the bed...
we were busy chatting away and suddenly some nurse came and saw me on the bed...
she jokingly asked, who's the patient and i lifted my hand up high... everyone in that area laughed...
later on, some male nurse came in to check on dad and again saw me resting on the bed.. this time, he funnily asked dad whether am i his grand-daughter or not... haha.. he just casually asked, "cucu ke?" my dad laughed (i'm surprised he knows that 'cucu' meant grand daughter... :p) my mom blur-ly asked dad, what did he asked... my dad funnily just say, "he thought tht joanne is my grand daughter".... (=.=") it is either i look really young or my dad looks really old...

either way, i just love being around my parents now even though hospital isn't the best place to do tht, but it is comforting to know that we are just comfortable chatting and sitting around with each other...

i don't think i should continue reporting on the amt of ciggies my dad takes on everyday... pointless... he just shrugs it off everytime we told him not to...

phew.. i'm tired...
physically
(my eye bags are really eeww...) (my back hurts sometimes) (i bought a pair or new heels in 1 glance at vincci today out of desperation) [what?! it's sales!]
mentally...
can't think anymore... i will remain in the state of being a gold fish for these few weeks... 3 seconds of memory span
emotionally
laughin is my best medicine.. i need to laugh in order to get strength...
amazingly, i am able to laugh a lot... thank God for peace and joy...

there is joy joy joy... in my heart....

naughty dad

okay, i think i loath blogging in my current mental state.. haha...
i'm tired physically, mentally and emotionally...
not really physically... but mentally and emotionally.....

dad is certainly looking way better... not much swelling left...
looks better in colour and he is so much more 'ching shing'... thank God for everything....

okay, let me talk bout my dad's naughtiness...
today, some docs came to take a look at dad.... dad really hates trainees btw...
everytime they come and touch dad with their tools, dad is in much pain and often times, he bleeds... sigh...
today, dad told them not to touch him no matter what.. he will NOT turn to his sides for them to do whatever they needed to do.. haha...

worst still, today dad and mom went to the cafeteria to get some fresh air.. dad told me he took DRUGS! i thought he was joking... later only did i realise he was trying to tell me he smoked... =.=" not 1, not 2, but 3 sticks of ciggies!! sakai lar dad...
the jokes he has been trying to tell these days are not funny at all... =.=" he told me sometimes he is in so much pain tht he actually need to call out 'yeh soh!' i just stares at him... he is obviously joking bout it... apa larr...

anyway, thanks for all the prayers.. dad is certainly recovering.. his appetite is surprisingly good.. he asked for mc d's fillet o fish... he ate some rendang yesterday nite... so, definitely recovering... mom on the other hand is exhausted... so, yea... she has kidney stone btw... pretty big....

sigh.. i'm dreading next years medical check up... i have no idea what will come out in my results.. :(

i'm sorry.. but i don't like pretenders who feed people with wrong information...

i just dont' like them and won't be able to stand them...
they annoy me most when they think that they are right and others are wrong...
they see things only from their point of view...

i'm annoyed
